Our group classes are probably the most fun your dog will ever have! We keep our classes fun and light, filled with lots of positive reinforcement with treats, praise, and attention.
The class schedule varies based on trainer availability, client interest/requests, space availability, and the time of year. Some classes are held at What's in the Bowl Pet Shop in New Berlin, WI and some are held at Dogtopia in Pewaukee. While What's in the Bowl Pet Shop is a fantastic location, it is outdoors so we are limited to the warmer seasons with better weather. Dogtopia is a state of the art dog daycare and boarding facility located in Pewaukee. This location is much more flexible as it is indoors, so classes here are held all year round. Please refer to our booking site to see when the class you are interested in is being held next.
Please review ourTerms and Conditions to learn our policies about class refunds, cancellations, low enrollment, and our dog health and vaccine requirements.
Our Puppy Preschool class is perfect for anyone with a puppy of any breed, even mixed, under 1 year old who is ready to begin learning basic life structure, basic obedience, and socialization. This class uses the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program as the curriculum. That means that if you attend all 6 classes and your dog does well in class and passes the test on the last day that your dog will be listed with the AKC as an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy!
Our Obedience Level 1 Class is the first obedience class for puppies after the Puppy Preschool Class or if the dog is an adult of any age and has never taken an obedience class before. This class covers the basics of obedience and good behavior. Your dog will have great manners after finishing this class!
Canine Coaching Institute's Obedience Level 2 class is for dogs that have already had some obedience training, whether it be private training or previous obedience classes. Your dog must be able to follow basic commands such as sit, down, heel, stand, etc. and they must be able to hold a sit/down stay as well as have their recalls down pretty well in order to be ready for this class.
The Canine Good Citizen Class is designed to help you get your dog ready to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. At the end of the class the test will be administered. While there are no age restrictions, we do suggest that dogs go through other training classes before this one, such as our other Obedience Classes so that they are familiar with basic obedience before jumping into this class and test.
Canine Coaching Institute's Reactive Dog Class is for dogs that have issues being around other dogs. If your dog barks, lunges and growls at other dogs, this class is for you. You will learn how to work with your dog in these settings using reward based training so that your dog has a positive association and experience with these environments rather than a negative one. In order to be ready for this class your dog must ideally have gone through our Reactive Dog Private Training Package or at the very least had an evaluation by one of our Canine Coaching Institute trainers to ensure that the dog is safe and ready to be in class.
