Frankie from the summer 2018 Puppy Preschool Class.
Our Puppy Preschool class is perfect for anyone with a puppy of any breed, even mixed, under 1 year old who is ready to begin learning basic life structure, basic obedience, and socialization. This class uses the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program as the curriculum. That means that if you attend all 6 classes and your dog does well in class and passes the test on the last day that your dog will be listed with the AKC as an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy!
A few of the things your puppy will learn in this class:
→ Exposure to other people approaching and petting them
→ Allowing the owner to groom them and check their ears and feet
→ Walking on a leash (perfection is not expected)
→ Walking on a leash past other people
→ Sit on command
→ Down on command
→ Coming when called
→ Reaction to distraction
→ Staying on leash with another person while owner walks 10 feet away
This class is held once a week for 6 weeks. Each session is 45 minutes long. Please see the registration page for the available class times.

At Canine Coaching Institute, LLC we are force, pain, fear and dominance free which means that we do not use tools or methods that inflict physical or psychological pain or discomfort on a dog. Instead we focus on positive reinforcement of desired behaviors using rewards such as treats, praise and toys. This lays a foundation for trust between the handler and the dog and will help promote a spirit of cooperation in the relationship. We offer private in-home training, group classes, minor to moderate behavioral training and specialty training such as therapy and service dog training. We pride ourselves in being flexible trainers that can find ways to work with practically any type of dog.
